Where we usually come in
You have outgrown the server in the cupboard. It works, but it is old, the warranty has lapsed, and replacing it means a capital purchase you would rather not make for hardware that will be idle most of the day.
You are already in the cloud and the bill keeps climbing. Something got set up in a hurry, nothing has been reviewed since, and nobody is quite sure what half the line items are for.
You are migrating for a reason with a deadline. An office move, an acquisition, an end-of-life system, or a client requirement that your data sit somewhere specific.
You want to do it properly from the start. A new product or a new business where getting identity, backups, and cost structure right at the beginning is cheaper than fixing them at scale later.
Security is part of the build, not a phase after it
The most expensive cloud security problems come from environments that were built to work first and secured afterwards. Public storage buckets, permissive access policies, and administrator credentials shared between people are all much harder to unwind once things are running on top of them.
So identity design, network segmentation, logging, and backup are part of the initial design conversation rather than a follow-up engagement. That includes the unglamorous parts: who can spend money, who can delete things, and what happens when somebody’s laptop is stolen.
Infrastructure as code, and why you should care
Where it is practical, we define your environment in code rather than by clicking through a console.
The benefit is not developer preference. It means the configuration of your infrastructure is a document you can read, review, and put in version control; that rebuilding after a disaster is a process rather than an archaeology project; and that a change can be proposed, reviewed, and rolled back like any other change. It also means that when something drifts from the intended state, that is detectable rather than invisible.
Cost, honestly
Cloud pricing is genuinely confusing, and a substantial amount of the money Australian businesses spend on it goes on resources that are oversized, idle, or forgotten entirely.
We include a cost model in the design so you know what the monthly bill should look like before you commit, and we set up billing alerts so a surprise is something you find out about in week one rather than in the quarterly review. On existing environments, a cost review is often the fastest thing we do that pays for itself.
